About DealTrackr

DealTrackr exists for one reason: to make sure the next code you paste at checkout actually works.

Why we built it

The coupon-aggregation category online has been broken for years. The biggest sites publish stale codes that fail at checkout because failed codes still pay the affiliate referral when a shopper completes the order anyway. We saw friends and family burning ten minutes per order trying ten dead codes in sequence, and decided to build the small honest version of this category that we wished existed.

Our verification process

Every code that appears on DealTrackr is hand-tested at the retailer's checkout by a member of our deals team before it is published. We add a representative qualifying item to the cart, paste in the code, and confirm the discount line lands on the order subtotal. If the discount fails, the code is rejected; we do not publish failed codes with weasel-language disclaimers about "may not work for all carts."

After publication, every active code is re-tested at least once per week. The "Verified" timestamp on each card reflects the most recent successful re-test, not the date the code was originally added. When a code stops working at re-test, we pull it from the site within twenty-four hours.

How we source retailer data

Our seed pipeline ingests publicly indexed promo pages and retailer affiliate disclosures. The store catalog, cashback rates, and shipping thresholds on each page come from each retailer's own published documentation. Where a public source is not available or is unreliable for a given attribute, we mark the field clearly and avoid filling it with guesses.

How we make money

DealTrackr earns affiliate commissions when readers click out to a retailer through our links and complete a qualifying purchase. We also serve display advertising and recommend a small number of cashback and credit-card partners. Editorial selection — which stores get pages, which codes are surfaced first, and how cards are ordered — is decided independently of partner relationships. Our editors do not see commission rates when they choose what to publish.

Who we are

DealTrackr is a small, independent editorial team that has spent years inside the retail-savings space. We have all worked at one of the larger coupon aggregators and left because we wanted to do this honestly. We are based in the United States and we shop at the same stores you do.
